“Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened”
Anatole France
I normally visit your home to photograph your pet and when you have chosen the most suitable image, a watercolour painting is produced and supplied mounted in a wooden frame.
In certain cases if you have a high quality photo of your own, I will be happy to work from that.
The painting will be head and shoulders on a plain coloured background as you can see from examples in the gallery. They are presented in a 19”x15” wooden frame with a card mount making the picture area 15”x11”.
For commissions which entail posting, I do not include a frame, due to possible breakage, but no charge is made for postage to compensate.
For commissions out of the local area, I will send a proof of the finished portrait and if ok, payment must be made before posting.
The current price is £195, The price for a double portrait will cost £390.

I attended Leeds College of Art for four years and received my National Diploma in Design (NDD). I qualified in Graphic Design and have worked in Advertising and Print Design ever since.
I went self-employed in 1975 and have always worked from home, apart from a few years, when I had a
studio and office in the centre of York.
One Christmas I decided to paint a portrait of my daughter’s dog ‘Bonnie’ and presented it to her and her
husband who were over joyed.
The inevitable comment came later - ‘You should do commissions’ - and that is how I started doing Pet
Portraits.
Although Pets are my main choice to paint, I have digressed into wildlife which I also enjoy.
I am currently in residence in a Penthouse flat in Kirkbymoorside with my wife Dorothy. A beautiful town in
North Yorkshire, ideally centered between the coast, the moors and the city of York.
